Education Scholarship Program
Approximately 12 % of Costa Rican families live in poverty or extreme poverty and are not able to buy the school supplies, uniforms, and shoes required for their children to take advantage of Costa Rica’s free public education system.
The goal of this program is to help these students graduate high school and gain university or vocational studies/training to help them
break the cycle of generational poverty
| Empowering San Ramón Students
The Education Scholarship program, which was created over a decade ago, provides school supplies, uniforms, and shoes to 18-24 financially needy and academically motivated public high school students in San Ramón. It also supports one or more university social worker students who serve as administrative program interns. Assistance to the students is supplied through vouchers redeemable at approved local retailers. We also provide other services when there is an identified need: psychological counseling, specialized medical, eye exams and glasses, food assistance, and counseling for university or vocational studies after graduation. Satisfactory academic scores, attendance, and teacher nominations are necessary for multi-year program eligibility.
You can help us support this scholarship program by contributing your time by mentoring or tutoring our students or by making a financial contribution to help fund program expenses.
