Programs

Welcome to our Programs where you’ll find ways to make a meaningful difference in San Ramón through a variety of community-led efforts. These programs are at the heart of CAA’s mission to uplift local families, support education, foster cultural connections, and bring holiday cheer to those in need.

Each program is a step toward empowering our neighbors and nurturing the spirit of community.

| Education Scholarship Program

Around 12% of Costa Rican families live in poverty, often unable to afford school essentials despite free public education. Established over a decade ago, this scholarship program helps students complete high school and access further studies, providing supplies and other necessary support for needy and motivated students in San Ramón.

| Language/Cultural Facilitation

Our conversation groups bridge cultures and improve language skills. The English Conversation Club lets Ticos practice English in a relaxed, conversational setting, while the Spanish Conversation Groups help expats enhance their Spanish skills. Both programs support our scholarship fund and contribute books to the local library.

| Christmas Toy Drive

For families in need, celebrating Christmas can be challenging. Each holiday season, CAA’s toy drive brings joy to children through gifts donated by the community. Volunteers purchase, wrap, and deliver the gifts, creating cherished memories for local families.

| Tamale Christmas

Tamales are a cherished Costa Rican holiday tradition, but food insecurity makes it difficult for many families to join in. Partnering with Faithful Servant Mission, CAA helps provide tamales to families in Bajo Tejares, allowing them to participate in this festive tradition that celebrates family and community.
