| What is CAA?
The Community Action Alliance of Costa Rica (CAA) is a group of expats and costarricenses in the greater San Ramón area who work together to enrich our community and the individuals in it. For expats, CAA provides a personal opportunity to redefine and recreate their lives in a new country and for Ticos it offers an opportunity for new relationships and resources to enhance their own and their community’s experience.

CAA’s two areas of focus are service to our members and service to our community.
Service to Members
CAA offers it members the opportunity to become connected to a rich network of support, friendship, and fun to help with the integration and enjoyment of a new community. Through participation In CAA community service activities and social activities, you meet new friends, both expat and Tico alike and learn about Costa Rica, its culture, and customs.
Service to the Community
CAA members contribute their time, talents, and financial resources to the community to make a positive difference for the people of our adopted community. Service to the community is provided through several CAA-developed programs as well as through established liaisons with vetted local non-profits where we support and amplify their much-needed services.
| Our numbers
Community Action Alliance has been active in the San Ramón area since 2009. During that time our members and friends have made it possible for us to provide services to our local community, which include:
Providing information for both visitors and residents, with 400 newsletter subscribers and over 1500 followers on Facebook.
Providing $150,000+ in scholarships for uniforms, shoes, supplies, and family support to enable students to stay in school and complete their education.
Providing food support to local families experiencing hardship.
Supporting local organizations that provide important services to the community such as care for orphans, homeless shelters, cancer care, women’s empowerment, medical support, and animal welfare.
Organizing social activities that offer opportunities to meet others in the area and to participate in events with other expats.
Donating over $275,000 of financial support to our community service initiatives.
